		<abstract>The objective of this work was to propose the object oriented classification as a viable tool for territorial planning in watersheds. The study area chosen was the Clarinho River Basin, located in Santa Rita do Passa Quatro - SP, marked by the conflicting relationship between anthropic activities and the environment. The data processing was done in ArcGis 10.3.1 and to classify the image was used the Geographic Object-Based Information Analysis (GEOBIA), for allowing the partitioning of an image into objects and for contemplating different attributes (spectral, spatial, morphological, contextual and temporal). The results obtained show the efficiency of this approach in the classification of land use and vegetation cover at wathersheds, also presenting the advantages of low relative cost and less time in the execution in relation to other classification methodologies.</abstract>
